Walberg & Cie. advises on sale of Hagemann Recycling to Bettels Group

The shareholders of Hagemann Recycling GmbH (“Hagemann”) have sold their company to Hermann Bettels GmbH & Co. KG (“Bettels Group”) as part of an external company succession. The transaction was structured as a share deal.
Hagemann, based in Wolfenbüttel, is a regional and national waste disposal company whose core competencies lie in the areas of demolition recycling, industrial and commercial waste disposal as well as scrap and metal wholesaling. The company returns more than 70,000 tons of various raw materials to the economic cycle every year on its 27,000 m² site.
The Bettels Group, headquartered in Hildesheim, is an owner-managed group of companies with an annual turnover of 400 million euros. In addition to the waste disposal division, the group is also active in the areas of concrete production, raw materials extraction, infrastructure/steel construction, logistics and energy generation. The operating site in Wolfenbüttel is to be significantly expanded in the near future and extended to include a large number of material flows.
The Walberg team under the leadership of Dr. Roman Sprenger LL.M. advised the shareholders of Hagemann on the preparation and implementation of the sale of the company. The advice included the legal structuring of the transaction as well as the preparation and negotiation of the transaction documentation.
We would like to thank everyone involved for their excellent cooperation.
