Walberg & Cie. partner Dr. Arno Malcher in Handelsblatt on artificial intelligence and copyright law

Feb 5 2024

Munich – Our partner Dr. Arno Malcher comments in Handelsblatt on the challenges of artificial intelligence for copyright law.

In times when AI is rapidly changing the way in which content is (or can be) created and distributed, it is more important than ever that we keep an eye on copyright law and adapt it where necessary.

A legal framework that ensures the protection of intellectual property on the one hand and does not hinder the development and establishment of new technologies on the other is crucial for the economic added value that we expect from AI.

It is time for us to find solutions together to create a fair and sustainable ecosystem for creatives, AI users and technology companies. As copyright has always been a right that has had to adapt to technological progress, we are confident that this will also succeed here.

Many thanks to Handelsblatt for the opportunity to write on these exciting topics!
